Carnarvon Gorge
Nyanda Station Tours

We are a small owner-operated business based on Nyanda Station, a large cattle property neighbouring the Carnarvon National Park. We are experienced and dedicated tour guides who have been interpreting the Australian landscape for guests from all over the world for a collective 13 years. We can help you see and understand things that others would simply walk past, from the ancient geological stories hidden in the rocks, to the rare plants of the Central Queensland Highlands. Join us on a tour to see the world a little differently, as we delve into the wonders of nature. Or simply enjoy the scenery on our 4WD Tag-along experience.

I was born in Rockhampton which is where I grew up before moving to Yeppoon. I began working at the Capricorn Caves as a tour guide in 2015 where I found a passion for gaining a deeper understanding of the world around us. I have been an accredited Savannah Guide since 2017 and have recently joined the Board of Directors of Savannah Guides Ltd. I want nothing more than to help visitors to the area gain a deeper connection to this incredible place that I call home.

I have a Certificate 4 in Outdoor Recreation and have had just over seven years experience guiding/storytelling/interpreting.

I grew up on a property neighbouring Carnarvon Gorge NP, so I have always loved exploring and being out in nature. In 2017, I began working as a tour guide at our local Capricorn Caves, which is where I developed a strong passion for guiding and interpretation. I then became an accredited Savannah Guide which helped to further expand my love for showing off this beautiful part of the world. This business has been a dream for a long time now. Working from my family property is certainly a dream come true. I am looking forward to showing off my home to you.

Thank you so much Caity and Christian for sharing such a  spectacular property and special sites with us as your first clients - proud to kick of CQ Tours!  Our visit to the beautiful, pristine Nyanda  Gorge with a tag along tour and walk up through the creek and gorge is something we won’t forget with the abundance of wildlife (even a platypus!), birdlife (great to see emus, brolgas, bustards, azure kingfisher, magpie geese and wedgies), wonderful ancient cycads, orchards and native trees we’ve never heard of before. Your obvious passion, deep love, respect and knowledge of this special place really helped us appreciate the whole experience all the more. To  have all that to ourselves with the private tours on offer was really unique. So glad we followed up with a tagalong to Black Alley with magnificent sweeping landscape views of the ranges and sandstone gorges all looking so very healthy and green. And great to get some appreciation of life on an historic cattle property where so much of nature is allowed to thrive. Congratulations and we look forward to returning. Cathy Reade
